A view of the dune system and beach as seen from the viewing platform
The Sefton Coast is one of England's largest sand dune systems
and is an internationally important site for wildlife.
The National Trust property was acquired in 1967,
as part of the Enterprise Neptune Campaign to preserve
the natural character of this special place.
The mischievous red squirrel,
resident of the sefton coast can be seen all year round foraging in the pine woodlands
managed by the National Trust.
Although native to the UK this is one of the few strong holds
remaining for this talented woodland dancer.
Below: Squirrel Walk, on a bright winters day.
Just one of the many pathways that meander through the site.
